Wine
The Winelands of the Western Cape in South Africa are a huge draw for national and international visitors alike,
for the wine tasting certainly, but also for the spectacular beauty, rich history and gastronomic excellence.
Committed to providing our visitors with the latest news and insights, we are constantly visiting wine estates and trying
wines, to ensure we can share with you some of our favourites. Each month we feature a wine or wine estate that we love - it's a tough job but someone has to do it.
Our Favourite Wine of the month
October 2008: Muratie Shiraz 2003
The Muratie Shiraz 2003 is one of our absolute favorites and the Muratie estate in Stellenbosch is a must to include on any wine tasting trip. Old, authentic Muratie is a small family estate that oozes history and makes great wine at the same time. Check out the cob webs in the winery that have probably been around for as long as the farm itself, as have some of the pictures on the wall of previous owners. The smoky 2003 Shiraz is top drawer and the 2004 Merlot is not far behind.
