Wine
The Winelands of the Western Cape in South Africa are a huge draw for national and international visitors alike,
for the wine tasting certainly, but also for the spectacular beauty, rich history and gastronomic excellence.
Committed to providing our visitors with the latest news and insights, we are constantly visiting wine estates and trying
wines, to ensure we can share with you some of our favourites. Each month we feature a wine or wine estate that we love - it's a tough job but someone has to do it.
Our Favourite Wine of the month
November 2008: Groot Constantia 2007 Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc
The Groot Constantia 2007 Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc is by no means an expensive wine. We love this white blend for its value and its fresh, crisp taste. The Groot Constantia estate nestled in the beautiful Constantia Valley just 20 minutes from Cape Town is one of the oldest in the Cape. The wine tastes especially good when you drink it outside with lunch at the Jonkerhuis restaurant next to the historic Manor House and with sweeping views of False Bay in the distance
