For coffee
Vida e café
Located all around Cape Town with new shops seemingly appearing every week, the Vida chain is the word on every ones frothy lips.
Their flagship store though just has to be the one on Kloof Street, stuffed full of attitude, models and the arty set from the local film studios, just wanting to be seen.
Look out for the big red umbrellas and you will find it and whilst you are there sample a white chocolate and blueberry muffin!
Orchid Café
A secret that we'd have rather kept actually... Tucked away in the Southern suburb of Little Chelsea in Wynberg, our
Managing Director Christina swears this is the best cappuccino in town. The food is also excellent for both breakfast and lunch.
Café Neo
Located on the seafront at Mouille Point, this Greek family-owned coffee shop and deli has become a fast favourite for Capetonians.
Great friendly welcome from Mike the owner and the greeting and the vibe are complemented by the excellent coffee. Look out for the light house and the shop is opposite.
Giovanni's
An absolute Cape Town legend, situated on the Green Point strip overlooking the construction of
the new soccer stadium for the 2010 World Cup, this street front deli seems to have been around forever. Always packed - the Italian staff must have been trained to be surly and unfriendly, but they make a mean coffee which you drink on benches around the bar.
Jardine Bakery
A great spot on the pavement to grab a brilliant cappuccino and panini filled with delicious fillings. In winter enjoy the wonderful array of daily soups.
Manna Epicure
A great spot on Kloof Street, the place to be seen! The decor is all white, they make their own rye breads and they serve a great coffee.
Mount Nelson
Coffee, or rather tea, in this hotel's (the city's oldest hotel) luxurious lounge or beautiful gardens is a legendry experience...
a high tea fit for a king with everything you can imagine. Recommend you book in season.
