Overture, Stellenbosch Winelands, Western Cape
This restaurant has been the recent talking point in Cape Town and has just been voted in South Africa's top ten restaurants for 2009. That piqued our interest enough to give it a try and after weeks of trying to make a booking, we finally got a lunch time cancellation and WOW! Situated high up on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains on the Hidden Valley wine estate, it really is nouveau cuisine at its finest with flavours like you have never tasted. Pretty food, painstakingly put together it looks and tastes fantastic. The restaurant is fairly stark, with a glass, wood and steel feel, but has stunning views and quite honestly it is a great all round experience. However if you feel like a good steak and chips, then look elsewhere! The right place for a romantic or special occasion.
