Our Favourite Restaurant of the Month
La Colombe- Constantia.
This month, Christina Holt, Managing Director of our sister company Wedding Concepts, shares her impressions and experience of dining at South Africa's top restaurant.
"La Colombe- situated on the Constantia Uitsig wine estate is just five minutes up the road from where we live so when I heard it had just been voted South Africa's restaurant of the year and with a wedding anniversary looming I decided to surprise my husband.
Chef Luke Dale-Roberts has also just been voted chef of the year and runs a restaurant of exceptionally well informed staff, a great extensive wine list (and we mean extensive!) and memorably presented and prepared food.
The casual interior and simple French infused blackboard menu both inspire and surprise, but dinner is a sophisticated experience where the courtyard setting and dining under the stars just add to the appeal.
If you're looking for something vibey and trendy, we suggest you look elsewhere but for that special occasion then La Colombe is pretty much unbeatable and lunch here is a much more casual affair.
Because of its wide reputation it is best to book a few weeks in advance but the wait is worth it. Why not let us book for you"
